Our History
Eight Vietnam combat veterans came together in 1992, over the concern of an increasing number of veterans becoming homeless and the lack of housing and resources. The original eight each contributed $1 to start the bank account to purchase a home. In 1994 the first Home of the Brave facility was opened with 4 beds. In 1996 the current farm house with 15 beds was opened with the majority of funding provided by a grant from the Federal Department of Veterans Affairs.
